This is a great meat clover. It arrived in a timely manner & was better then described. Looking forward to using it again soon. It is a good value for your coins. Hope this helps. Ann :)Good length and sharp but the edges got nicked when chopping chicken. Plus gets rusted. Wouldn't recommend.I had ordered this because I liked the look from the pictures, but when the knife arrived I was a bit disappointed. The overall blade length is good, but the handle feels a bit short for my hand. Maybe I have big hands, but still this feels like it was designed for a much smaller hand than mine. I do like the look of the blade and it had the feel of a hand crafted item, but looking closely it looks a little like a mass produced item. I am not a fan of the blade treatment on the blade and the other thing that threw me off is the canvas sheath. Not my favorite knife purchase and this will not become one of my BBQ knives. I hope that this is helpful.I really do like this cleaver. It has an interesting profile, it’s heavy and the grind smooth at the bevel. My picture doesn’t show this very well because the blade still has some protective oils on it. The handle is solid, sanded smooth and feels great in the hand. The brand name is “handmade to last” but ironically it has a cracked spine. Maybe handmade but a little too fast and lacks quality control. This crack will likely never move unless I really wanted to be hard on the blade. It looks like the crack originated from stamping the logo. There is still plenty of material so I could grind the spine down but I would need to reshape the whole profile to make it look right. I am still pleased with the blade because it’s a nice cleaver aside from the defect. The materials and labor would cost far more than this clever costs if I were to make one myself. Although this blade is cracked I could still salvage it and I’m sure most of them are fine. Just inspect your blade before you start chopping.I recently bought a Serbian Chef's Knife from Amazon made by a different company. I gave it 5 stars when I reviewed it because I loved it. It was primitive, solidly crafted and felt authentic. It was also reasonably priced. So when I saw this variation on that knife by a different seller, I jumped.I am not entirely thrilled with this iteration and I am going to attempt to put my finger on why.The handle is too small for my hands and is made of a synthetic material misleadingly called 'pakkawood.' There are no such things as pakka trees in the world I live in, therefore pakkawood can only be a synthetic plastic or resin of some kind and it is. It is used for cheap knives.The blade, while substantial and fearsome looking is fairly lightweight. It has so many 'authentic' marks and dings in the non-blade area that they can only have been put there intentionally. It comes with a canvas type of sheath which is dangerous to put on and take off without GREAT care. Unnecessary to have designed such a poor storage pouch for a knife which will never see the inside of a wood knife block because of the wild design of the blade.The price is three times what its sister, the superior Serbian Chef knife, is selling for no good reason.What can this knife be used for? Chopping vegetables and boneless meats, I suppose. The blade is a radius, so unless you use this in a rolling motion to chop stuff, you will be ignoring most of the business end of the knife which will never touch the cutting board (because it is a radius.) Granted, it is a dramatic knife for chopping vegetables but others are much better suited to the job.Add that this knife requires substantial care because it will rust and react with any acidic food and you can see why this will be relegated to display and infrequent if any use.I rated it 4 stars against my better judgement. It feels like it isn't authentic in ways that matter to me.
