Knife guide slots to keep the sharpening angle consistent for easy sharpening
It works better than most, but isn't perfect. It’s biggest problem is that it’s battery operated. It doesn’t seem to have the needed power and you have to keep changing the batteries. Also a problem I have is that it is only designed for one shape of knife, certain shaped knives don’t fit down in far enough to reach the grinding wheel.nice itemVery flimsy, plastic device. However, it did sharpen my Kyocera knife. Concerned about long term viability.Don't bother with any of the cheap knock offs. After purchasing one of the competing but cheaper products that claimed to work with ceramic blades, only to discover upon delivery that it states on the packaging that it only works with steel blades, I bit the bullet and purchased the more expensive but clearly superior official Kyocera sharpener. Works great. Would buy again!Works well, but there are some knives such as "deba" did not fit into thr slot. I guess this is only fir thinner knives.I have been trying to sharpen regular and ceramic knives...it takes forever to sharpen...if I pull the blade through the unit as instructed, it takes way to long then the blade gets dull fast...Maybe I am not doing it correctly but I had been following the instructions step by step...Works as advertised.
