Product Description

Gerber has been making survival knives for the US Military since 1968. The Strong-arm Fixed Blade carries on our legacy of tough-as-hell fixed blade knives for combat and survival applications. With a sheath that can be mounted in a variety of ways, this knife offers reliable use whether on-duty or off. Featuring a serrated edge, full tang 420HC blade with black ceramic coating, the Strong-arm was designed around the fundamentals of military survival training. Obtain a solid grip on the knife in all conditions with its diamond-texture rubberized handle. The striking pommel positioned at the base of the handle functions to break through hard surfaces for effective rescue operations, and ceramic coating on the blade offers subtle use through low visual profile, as well as preventing corrosion for long life of the blade. The Strong Arm's modular sheath system is as important as the knife itself. With the sheath's snap-together components, the operator can mount the knife vertically on MOLLE, horizontally on a standard 1.75" tactical belt, or in a traditional drop-leg belt mount fashion. The Strong-arm Fixed Blade is designed and built in Portland, Oregon.

I literally just took this out of the box and was immediately impressed. It is a gift for my son who just happed to lose his while hiking in the mountains. He is very hard on things so we’ll see how it holds up.Out of the box, it shaved the hair right off of my arm. Box was slightly damaged , but it will go right in his pack.Appears very solid and well made. I will be interested to see how it holds an edge and how easily it can have a serviceable edge put back on it.Can’t ask for something better, it’s the best knife I’ve had.Excellent sheath Can be used in multiple positions I prefer the rear back on my belt. Knife is extremely sharp right out of the box. American made is a giant plus and it’s high quality for the price1st off, I am coming from the Becker and Esee families which I owned Becker 2, 5, 7, 9, 14, 15 and Esee Izula, 4, 5, 6, Junglas. I used most of them in the passed few years and finally decided to let them go. They are great knives and you really get that "Boy, this knife is great!" feeling. However, I don't get to use/carry these knives in a day to day basis. I only take them out camping/hiking or working in the yard. Rust start to show up on these expansive knives if I don't take care of them. I wipe and dry the blades after cutting a pineapple camping. I wipe and dry the blades after gutting the fish on the trip....they rust even my sheaths are wet inside.... You get the idea?As I am getting older and lazier (no pun intended, lol), I decided to jump ship to so called "stainless" blades to suit my situation. This Strongarm cuts and chops very similar to the Beckers and Esees. I know it is not the most perfect geometry, long lasting, comfortable or eye pleasing knife to a lot of people, but I do find this knife finishes the job with ease.1) Stainless blade - Ddon't have to deal with the rust issue, I use it and put it back to the sheath without worries.2) Enclosed handle material - Once again, no rust inside the handle. No loosen screws to worry. Great traction to provide a firm grip.3) Sheath - Comes with Kydex/plastic sheath with multiple carry options. Much easier to use than nylon sheath in general.4) Price - Reasonably priced. I will not cry like my friend who lost an Esee in the woods last time. Also not afraid to beat on this thing because it is so cheap to replace.5) Size - Great to carry without being too bulky. I do also own a SOG seal team in case I want a bigger knife for more fun. Some people will argue that we all need a super blade or blades in case we are in a "survival" situation. I agree but figure if I ever come to an situation which I manage to break my Strongarm or Seal team...... I am in a big pile of Sxxxx already and no other knives can save me from the ditch! LOL. Now I bring a tomahawk with a knife if I need to to cove the "cut" and "chop" part.IMHO from my experience:Best Kydex factory sheath: EseeWorst Kydex factory sheath: SOGBest Nylon factory sheath: SOGWorst Nylon factory sheath: Becker, OntarioWith all respects, this is totally my own opinion and hope I didn't offense anybody in the knife community. LOL.If youre looking for a reasonably priced rugged knife this is it. Its very modular as well. Was able to fit it right to my plate carrier. Comes sharp from factory but Id recommend giving it a little more sharpening. 10/10 would buy againBest deal at the time.Carry for duty use and great tool at low price. This is a great camp knife. It gets used for chopping wood, cutting steak, and everything in between. The sheath is a little on the big side in my opinion and wish the molle mount was not recessed. Also erster Test der Tragetest. Was uns sofort zum nächsten Test bringt. Rapporto qualità/prezzo davvero ottimo. dopo un controllo accurato, garantisco che il prodotto non è un fake cinese ma proudly made in USA.The grip is excellent for stabbing tasks, and the serrations can cut though seat belt material easily, but it's not comfortable for longer periods of wood carving tasks when I'm camping. For urban exploration or BOB type of scenario I would want this knife, but I ended up getting a Mora Kansbol for camp duties requiring a knife.
