Non-metallic, non-magnetic, affordable, lightweight blade. This is a kitchen knife and not designed to be used as a weapon. The incredible hand made sheath and carry system allows you to also carry your kitchen knife with you wherever you go easily and safely, while still being very quickly accessible. Even the rubber grip section is resistant to finger print testing. It's nearly undetectable because it contains no metal, only ceramic and rubber. The sheath is thermoplastic, the lanyard nylon 550lb paracord with a plastic pressure release clip. The 1/4" holes in the sheath can also be used to safely attach the knife pretty much anywhere with any modern holster attachment method. They are completely impervious to the elements (no rusting, warping, or falling apart with time) so they're perfect for bug-out bags, boating, scuba diving, fishing, Hardy, basic, and durable. The ceramic blade ships extremely sharp and is harder than any steel in the world, meaning it will never need to be sharpened. The rubber handle provides excellent grip in any conditions. Ceramic blades will chip under torque, this is normal for the type of material. Do not drop your blade on hard surfaces while it's not in the sheath. I'm buying another. This tool is unique in its class of products, being non-metallic. I truly believe this is the most useful and innovative design among the options out there today in this segment.The two most common options are G10 (or a similar polymer composite - essentially hard plastic ) or ceramic (extremly brittle - often containing small amounts of metal, which really defeats the purpose).This came well sharpened, and thoughtfully designed. This is a functional cutting tool. G10 cannot hold this type of edge (e.g., cold steel FGX series), and ceramic breaks easily.There are many legitimate reasons why one may want a non-metallic cutting tool. That is up to the user. Very few steel knives resist rust/corrosion in wet/humid environments as an example.Perhaps the user has another reason to avoid a steel blade.Whatever the reason may be, this is the obvious choice. Thoughtfully designed, sharp edged, designed with care and creativity and a focus on the end-user.
