the knives are sharp and made well but nothing like the picture portrays has a Damascus print. However, it does not have the contrast that is shown in picture. Will add pictures later.I’ve used this set for a little over a year and they are beautiful. They have good weight feel amazing in my hands but sadly the durability of the metal could be better. I’m not a professional cook and don’t use them for anything heavy duty(chopping bones and other hard objects) but the knifes are still getting a lot of damage to the bladesMy husband cooks a ton and he loves these knives. He has the 5” and the 8”. They are expensive, which is why he only has two but worth the money. He keeps them in their original case with the tip covered. Only hand washes to protect them from rusting. My oldest son got us started on these. He is obsessed too.This knife ls beautiful. It is light weight and perfectly balanced in the hand. The manufactured wood handle is a lovely complement to the visible structure of the Damascus steel blade.There is some confusion in the instructions for care that are sent with this knife. The XINZUO team has kindly clarified that it is their intent for people to understand that the blade must be honed frequently to maintain sharpness, but that it should never be subjected to coarse sharpening processes that would destroy the steel layers. I think most cooks would do well to consult with a real knife sharpening expert before "working on" this extremely fine blade in any way.I like this fine Damascus steel knife so much that I have begun seriously studying knife sharpening, which will eventually benefit of all my cooking and gardening tools. In time, I anticipate replacing most or all my kitchen knives with knives from the XINZUO Damascus steel series. That's how nice this knife is.Excellent edge holding. Only thing I would change is I'd prefer a larger handle. Good value at a reasonable price for the quality.These ARE NOT FOLDED STEEL KNIVES.That being said, they are a good quality steel that are well balanced and well made. I purchased our set in 2019 and with semi-regular maintenance they still look great and cut great. For the price it’s a awesome product.I purchased the 5” utility knife on a flash sale. I am slowly replacing my 25 yr old German knives that are still good but mostly are too big for daily use (never need 8” chef’s knife). The Xinzuo 5” knife is beautiful and very sharp. Easily passes the newsprint cut test. The grip is large/full. The 5" is not light weight and has a sturdy/firm feel. As a result balance is OK if you grip slightly toward the back of the knife. Quality looks good. Price is about 1/2 of what a good German would cost on sale!Recently purchased whetstones so this knife will be good for learning and developing sharpenI am not a professional chef by any means, but I have used several knife sets throughout the years. Without question, these are the best knives I have ever used. They are extremely well made, solid, and feel good in the hand. They are extremely sharp, and everything seems like butter when using these knives. Highly recommended!Wir hatten jahrelang ganz einfache Küchenmesser. Zu leicht, nicht scharf genug. Zu Weihnachten habe ich mich endlich druchgerungen, neue Küchenmesser zu bestellen. Ich habe mir viel Zeit genommen für die Auswahl und das hat sich wirklich gelohnt.Die Messer wurden sehr schnell geliefert und bin wirklich begeistert. Sie liegen sehr gut in der Hand, haben eine mit Ihrem Holzgriff eine sehr angenehme Haptik und sind wirklich scharf.Egal ob ich Krustenbrot schneide, Süßkartoffeln oder Ingwer.... es geht durch, wie Butter.Freue mich jeden Tag aufs kochen... :-)Bin sehr glücklich über meinen Kauf. Auch meine Freundin, die anfangs sehr skeptisch war, kommt gut mit den Messern zurecht und ist mittlerweile sehr zufrieden.Habe mich lange durch verschiedene Damastmesser-Sets auf Amazon durchgeklickt und mich schliesslich wegen der ganzen guten Bewertungen für dieses entschieden. Das war die absolut richtige Entscheidung!Hier eine detaillierte Auflistung:Positiv:- Messer sind extrem scharf (bitte vorsichtig auspacken!).- Messer- und Griffdesign sind sehr schön.- Messer liegen gut in der Hand.- Schöne Verpackung (zumindest die blaue).- Schneller Versand durch Amazon.Negativ:- Messer fühlen sich teilweise ein klein bisschen leicht an. Dabei handelt es sich aber vermutlich um eine persönliche Präferenz.- Die Versandverpackung war echt dürfitg, weshalb die Geschenkverpackung vermutlich etwas in Mittleidenschaft gezogen wurde.Fazit:Wer ein schönes und super scharfes Messerset möchte, welches auch noch durch das Damastlaminat ne super Optik hat, hat hiermit sicher Freude.Ich war am Anfang auch wie so viele hier Skeptisch.. hmm Damast.. hmm China.. ABER weg mit diesen Gedanken. Es war als ein Geschenk für meine Eltern und ich muss sagen hier habe ich nichts falsch gemacht.ECHTER Damast Stahl und wirklich sehr sehr gut verarbeitet. Hier kaufen sie wirklich gute Qualität die sich sogar Lohnt Sehenswert hinzustellen.I bought this set a few months ago. I was looking to replace my old knives that were chipped and old. I waited for a few months before writing this review simply because I wanted to give them time to test to see how well they maintain their durability and sharpness. I'm by no means professional in knives nor a chef. However, my experience with these knives were fantastic. They are sharp from the beginning and sustained throughout the time i used them. I like the hardness too which makes them less prone to break, though I won't use them to cut bones. The only thing I do not like about these knives is the edge near the handle. I typically hold them on the body of the knife with my index finger wrapping on one side (right handed). After extended time of use, I find the edge at the top of the knife too sharp and not smooth leaving my fingers a little pain. However, if you use your knives only holding onto the handles, this wouldn't be a problem. Finally, I find the package quite nice as they come in a nice box which is a perfect gift for everyone as the price isn't overly expensive and find great value in these knives.Aussehen perfekt, Verarbeitung miserabel. Nach nicht mal einem Monat komplett stumpf. Verkäufer verspricht 100 % Zufriedenheit oder Geld zurück. Nach Reklamation hat der Verkäufer gemeint er müsse erklären, wie man mit einem Messer umgeht und 15 Euro Schleifkosten für alle Messer angeboten, völlig lächerlich. Abzocke. Völlig mindere Qualität. Ich rate vom Kauf dieser Messer ab. Damastmesser glatter Reinfall. Nur schön aussehen alleine genügt nicht.
